Kwaw Kese Visits Vandalised Statue of Nana Addo in Takoradi
Kwaw Kese visited the vandalised statue of former President Nana Addo. He expressed sadness about the destruction in a video. The musician condemned the act and called it disrespectful.
He emphasized that damaging national symbols benefits no one. Kwaw Kese stood at the Effia Nkwanta roundabout, reflecting on the statue's ruined state.
The statue was unveiled in November 2024 to honor Nana Addo’s contributions to regional development. Unfortunately, it has faced repeated vandalism since then.
The second incident occurred on January 12, 2025, detaching the statue's head and damaging its base. The first attack only damaged one leg, which was later repaired.
In his video, Kwaw Kese noted that the statue looked worse than before. Some residents believe it should never have been erected. Others argue that destroying public property is not acceptable.
Social media users reacted to Kwaw Kese's visit with mixed comments. One user remarked on the finality of the damage, while another questioned if it had been rebuilt previously.
Others criticized those who encouraged vandalism and expressed sympathy now. Some pointed out that former President Akufo-Addo remained silent about the incident.
Recently, Nana Addo shared on Facebook that he spent Easter in Kwahu. He met current President John Dramani Mahama during this visit. Their friendly interaction received positive reactions from Ghanaians who appreciated their unity.
