"TikTokers are not celebrities": Asantewaa, Efia Odo, others bash Mona Gucci

Mona Gucci Criticizes TikTokers at Red Carpet Events

Media personality Mona Gucci has shared her views on TikTokers. She expressed her frustrations after the Telecel Ghana Music Awards. Her comments have sparked debate online.

Mona Gucci stated, "TikTokers are not celebrities." This remark upset several viral stars, including Asantewaa and Efia Odo. They responded to her sentiments on social media.

On her show, Bibi Gyegye Wo, Mona criticized TikToker Almed's appearance on the red carpet. She said, "If you’re a brand influencer, influence your followers." She called Almed a nobody despite his million followers.

Mona added that Almed should not expect to walk the red carpet with fashion icons. Her comments followed fashion mogul Nana Akua Addo's review of the awards show. Nana reportedly preferred not to share the carpet with TikTok stars.

Almed disagreed with Mona's remarks and defended himself online. He claimed he is a celebrity and will not be affected by her words. He pointed out that Nigerian TikTok influencers walked red carpets alongside other celebrities.

The controversy has led to more discussions among TikTok stars. Efia Odo criticized the negative perception of online personalities as outdated. She noted that many people gained recognition through social media.

Asantewaa and others joined in, highlighting discrimination against TikTok influencers. Some fans even petitioned Onua TV for an apology from Mona Gucci.

Earlier, Mona also criticized Ayisha Modi for attacking Stonebwoy and his family. On her show, she labeled Ayisha an attention seeker who caused harm to Stonebwoy.
