John Dumelo Organises Buses for University of Ghana Students
John Dumelo has arranged free buses for level 100 students at the University of Ghana. This initiative helps them return home for vacation. He announced this on X (formerly Twitter) and shared a video with the students.
The event took place on May 12, 2025. The buses covered various destinations, including Ho, Kumasi, Takoradi, Cape Coast, and Elmina. In his post, Dumelo wrote: "Yesterday, I organised free buses for level 100 Legon students to go back home safely for vacation."
Many social media users praised Dumelo's gesture as timely and thoughtful. This is not his first transportation initiative for students. In December 2024, he provided similar services during the Christmas break.
Dumelo won the Ayawaso West Wuogon seat in the December 7, 2024 elections. He ran under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and defeated Lydia Seyram Alhassan of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He won by a margin of 2,200 votes.
During his campaign, Dumelo focused on student needs. He donated laptops and worked on accommodation projects at the university. His efforts helped him gain strong support from students.
Social media reactions were positive. One user joked about him keeping his seat forever. Another expressed gratitude for his service to the community.
Recently, Dumelo responded to a fan asking for money on X. He mentioned donating four months' salary to the government and would not be paid again until September. This response came amid discussions about asset declarations by public officials.
Overall, many appreciate Dumelo's commitment to supporting students and engaging with his community.
