KOD Shares His Journey Selling Cassettes for Dr. Osei Kwame Despite

Kofi Okyere Darko, known as KOD, is a presidential staffer on Diaspora Affairs. He recently shared his story about selling cassettes and CDs for Dr. Osei Kwame Despite during secondary school.

In a viral video, KOD discussed his relationship with the Ghanaian millionaire. He spoke at the launch of Despite's luxury automobile museum on June 1, 2025. The event was attended by His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

Dressed in a stylish long-sleeve lace shirt and white trousers, KOD stood out at the gathering. He celebrated Ghana's automotive heritage alongside other notable figures.

In an interview with GH Hyper, KOD reflected on his early experiences in music and media. He said, "I used to sell compact discs and cassettes for Despite at Daddy Lumba's shop." This job opened his eyes to the music industry and laid the foundation for his career.

KOD also mentioned working at Radio Gold during that time. He noted how far Dr. Despite has come and still affectionately calls him "Bra Osei."

The event attracted many personalities, including John Dumelo and his wife Gifty Dumelo. They wore matching outfits of stylish white shirts and denim jeans.

Gifty Dumelo impressed attendees with her chic hairstyle and accessories. Earlier news highlighted KOD’s appointment as presidential adviser on Diaspora Affairs by President John Mahama.

He received congratulations from various celebrities like Gifty Anti for this new role. KOD is also happily married to fashion designer Ophelia Crossland.
