King Promise Snubs Stonebwoy After Winning 2025 TGMA Artiste Of The Year
On May 10, 2025, King Promise won the Artiste of the Year at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA). He also won Best Afropop Song for his hit “Paris” and Best Afrobeat/Afropop Artiste.
Despite these achievements, King Promise ignored a congratulatory message from Stonebwoy on X. Stonebwoy, known for songs like “Nominate,” welcomed King Promise into “the league of winners” on May 12.
Fans and media are discussing King Promise's lack of response to Stonebwoy. In an interview, he downplayed the importance of the post. He stated, “I have received the congrats, but I don’t want to talk about it.”
King Promise mentioned he heard about Stonebwoy’s message through others but hadn’t seen it himself. He asked those informing him to remain calm about it.
In contrast, King Promise responded positively to fellow nominee King Paluta. After losing to King Promise, Paluta congratulated him on May 11 with a post saying, “Congratulations to Big Greg @IamKingPromise! Apicki!”
This interaction sparked positive reactions online and highlighted camaraderie in the Ghanaian music industry.
Earlier this year, Vida Adutwumwaa, Burniton Music Group's Public Relations Officer (PRO), doubted King Promise's chances at winning. She argued that he hadn't accomplished enough in the past year.
This discussion arose during a heated exchange with Tilly Akua Nipaa, King Promise's PRO. Social media users have commented on this viral video shared by Vida Adutwumwaa on Instagram.
