"You didn’t protest when Charlotte Osei was fired": Nana Aba Anamoah blasts NPP

Nana Aba Anamoah Criticizes NPP for Protests Against Chief Justice Suspension

Ghanaian media personality Nana Aba Anamoah has criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP). She spoke out against their protests regarding Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo's suspension.

Anamoah pointed out that the NPP was silent when Charlotte Osei was dismissed in 2018. Osei was the former chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Ghana. Many social media users reacted to her comments, which gained attention on X.

On May 6, 2025, Anamoah called out the NPP for double standards. She said, “When my beloved cousin Charlotte Osei was unfairly removed, you didn’t protest.” She emphasized that every institution deserves protection.

Charlotte Osei and two subordinates were fired by the Akufo-led NPP administration in 2018. This followed a committee investigation into allegations against them. The NPP claimed their removal was constitutional, but others viewed it as a witch hunt.

After losing the December 2024 elections, the NPP protested Torkornoo's suspension. They argued it threatened judicial independence. This protest came after three petitions were filed against Torkornoo.

President John Dramani Mahama suspended Torkornoo and formed a five-member committee to investigate complaints. Meanwhile, Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie is now acting as Chief Justice.

In other news, Nana Aba Anamoah recently showcased her French-speaking skills at her Women of Valour conference announcement. She wore a custom outfit and designer stilettos during a video shoot.

Earlier reports highlighted her stylish two-piece ensemble designed by an emerging fashion designer. Some celebrities, including actress Lydia Forson, commented on her fashionable appearance.
