C/R: Two arrested for stealing iron rods from Agenda 111 construction site in Kasoa

Police at the Kasoa Ofaakor Jei River station have arrested two suspects. They are accused of stealing iron rods for a health facility. This facility is part of the government’s Agenda 111 project.

The suspects were caught while transporting the materials in a tricycle. Eyewitnesses reported that the vehicle was half-loaded with iron rods when police intervened. Investigations revealed that the materials were stolen from the construction site at Jei River, Kasoa.

A security guard from Odupong Senior High School helped with the arrest. His quick response was crucial in capturing the suspects. However, one suspect escaped and is still on the run.

The Kasoa Ofaakor Jei River Police are searching for this third individual. They urge the public to provide any information that could help locate him. The two arrested suspects are currently in police custody and assisting with investigations.

In response to this incident, Seth Banini visited both the crime scene and construction site. He is the Municipal Chief Executive of Awutu Senya East Assembly. Banini condemned the theft and warned local youth against criminal activities.

“This is a national project meant to benefit our people,” he stated. He added that such acts slow down development and harm community reputation. Banini also emphasized his commitment to creating job opportunities for youth in Kasoa.

He encouraged them to focus on constructive activities for personal growth and community development.
