Authorities at the Winneba Technical Institute are investigating a viral video. The video shows about 10 students on campus with weapons. They are seen wielding knives, scissors, and other dangerous items.
The footage appears to show an initiation ritual. It also includes comments suggesting acts of revenge. This has raised public concern and condemnation.
Stephen Yaw Asare, the school's Assistant Administrator, confirmed the investigation is ongoing. So far, six students have been identified. Parents of these students have been invited to help with the probe.
"We take this matter very seriously," Mr. Asare said. He added that disciplinary action will follow once investigations conclude.
School authorities issued a public apology for the incident. They expressed regret and assured the public of their commitment to safety on campus. The institute urged parents to monitor their children's belongings more closely.
The investigation continues as the school collaborates with relevant stakeholders. They aim to ensure accountability and prevent future incidents.
