Defence Minister opens refurbished GAF Medical Services headquarters at Burma Camp

On Wednesday, April 29, 2025, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah inaugurated the new headquarters of the Medical Services Directorate. This facility is located at Burma Camp in Accra.

The refurbishment aims to improve the operational efficiency of GAF Medical Services. It will enhance healthcare for military personnel and their dependents.

During the event, Dr. Omane Boamah thanked the Military High Command. He acknowledged Major General William Agyapong and all officers and staff for their commitment to medical services.

“We appreciate their dedicated service,” he said. He highlighted the medical directorate's vital role in supporting armed forces' health and welfare.

Dr. Omane Boamah also praised private sector partners who funded the project. He presented them with awards to recognize their contributions.

He called their support “welcome generosity.” The Minister encouraged ongoing collaboration between the private sector and military for critical infrastructure and services.

The event was attended by top military officials, defense ministry representatives, and private sector stakeholders.
