Dr. Godfred Seidu Jasaw is the Member of Parliament for Wa East. He is also the Chairman of the Agriculture and Cocoa Affairs Committee. Currently, he is in Nairobi, Kenya, for CGIAR Science Week.
He was invited by the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). His participation aims to connect scientific research with agricultural policy.
Dr. Jasaw is helping shape the new CGIAR Policy Champions Network. This network focuses on linking research with policy-making in agriculture and food systems.
His experience in sustainable food systems will guide evidence-based decisions in agricultural policies. During the event, he will meet with policy practitioners from over 26 countries.
Together, they will identify key research needs in national agricultural sectors. They will also explore ways to improve food security and resilience globally. These discussions are vital for developing integrated policies based on scientific data.
Dr. Jasaw’s involvement highlights Ghana’s commitment to science-led agricultural development. It also shows Ghana's active role in global discussions about transforming food systems.
As Chairman of Parliament’s Agric and Cocoa Affairs Committee, his insights will enhance CGIAR initiatives. These initiatives aim to strengthen science-policy integration for sustainable agriculture outcomes.
