E/R: Kwahu South health directorate rolls out comprehensive health services for Easter festivities

Thousands of revellers are heading to the Kwahu hills for Easter. The Kwahu South Municipal Health Directorate is launching health initiatives. They aim to ensure a safe and healthy festive season.

In partnership with the Kwahu South Municipal Assembly, they want to create a secure environment. Their measures include free health screenings and public health education. This is part of a campaign to promote wellness during the festivities.

Municipal Health Director Abdul Aziz Mohammed spoke to the media. He announced free testing for HIV and hepatitis will be available. This encourages early detection and access to treatment.

Free condoms will also be distributed at designated centres. This aims to reduce sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and prevent unplanned pregnancies. Director Mohammed emphasized the importance of being responsible for one’s health.

He advised against excessive alcohol consumption during celebrations. Excessive drinking poses serious health risks and can lead to accidents. “Drink responsibly, stay hydrated, and avoid risky behaviours,” he urged.

This initiative is part of the directorate’s annual Easter preparedness plan. Health personnel will be deployed across key locations for emergencies and education. Authorities hope these measures will reduce preventable illnesses and accidents.

They aim to make this Easter celebration joyful and safe for everyone.
