Eastern Regional police investigate shooting incident at Asiyaw near Nsawam

The Eastern South Regional Police Command is investigating a shooting. This incident happened on April 29, 2025, in Asiyaw, near Akwane-Dobro, Nsawam. Five men were killed in the shooting.

Police crime scene investigators found the bodies of five adult males. All had gunshot wounds. The team also recovered several items from the scene.

They found one Toyota Tacoma vehicle and one Toyota Tundra vehicle. Additionally, they discovered a pump-action gun with seventeen live cartridges. Four empty cartridges and three 7.62/39mm empty shells were also collected.

One 9mm empty shell was found along with five heavy-duty motorbikes. Preliminary investigations indicate a confrontation between two groups over sand winning at the site.

The deceased bodies are now at the Police Hospital mortuary for preservation and autopsy. Investigations continue to identify and arrest those responsible for the shooting.
