H4P honours PWDs at the Prestigious CHIL Awards

In a world striving for equality, misconceptions about disability persist. The Here for Perfection (H4P) Organization has worked to change this for 14 years. Under Bishop Dr. Charles Cofie Hackman’s leadership, they celebrate the abilities of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).

One key event is the Christina Hackman Impact Leadership (C.H.I.L.) Awards and Dinner Night. This event honors PWDs who have made significant contributions to society. It is the first of its kind in Ghana, showcasing the achievements of the disability community.

The second edition took place on March 15th at Labadi Beach Hotel. High-profile dignitaries and advocates attended, highlighting the need for inclusivity. Notable guests included Mrs. Linda Ablorh from Manna Mission and past award winners.

The C.H.I.L. Awards honor Mrs. Christina Anansiwa Hackman, Bishop Dr. Hackman's late mother. She was recognized for her service to humanity and dedication to PWDs.

Bishop Dr. Hackman opened the event by expressing his passion for changing perceptions about disability. He stressed the importance of empowering PWDs to realize their potential.

Awards were given in three categories: Sports, Education, and Entrepreneurship.

**Sports Award:** Raphael Botsyo Nkegbe received this award as a three-time Paralympian.

**Entrepreneurship Award:** Mr. Ntim Twumasi Kwaku (NTK) was honored for his impact on business and social development.

**Education Award:** Prof. Wisdom Mprah from KNUST was recognized for advancing education and welfare for PWDs.

Each awardee received a CHIL Plaque, Certificate, Medal of Honour, and a cash prize.

Sister Elizabeth Newman was the Special Guest of Honour. She delivered an inspiring address about progress in disability advocacy and received the C.H.I.L. Lifetime Honorary Award for her service since 1974.

The evening featured performances by talented PWDs like Min Elorm and Douglas Makafui, showcasing creativity within the community.

Guests also heard moving testimonies from local and international figures celebrating H4P's commitment to uplifting PWDs' lives.

The CHIL Awards highlighted resilience and achievements of PWDs while reinforcing support for their contributions. H4P continues its mission to break down barriers and empower PWDs to achieve greatness.
