Health Minister pushes for online nursing admission process to ease burden on applicants

The Minister for Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, wants to modernize nursing training admissions. He aims to make the process more accessible for applicants nationwide.

Mr. Akandoh seeks to reduce stress and logistical challenges. He proposes a system that allows students to apply online from home. This would eliminate the need to travel to banks or district capitals for forms.

He expressed concern about applicants enduring long journeys just to access forms. In today's digital era, this situation is unacceptable. If a new digital admissions platform is needed, he fully supports it.

He made these remarks during a meeting with nursing training institution principals. "This initiative will ease the burden on parents and applicants," he stated.

Mr. Akandoh emphasized the need for broader transformation in the health sector. "The resetting agenda begins with all of us," he said. He assured that nursing admissions will be included in this effort.
