IGP Yohuno meets predecessors over 'personnel welfare, crime fighting efforts, ongoing reforms in the police service'

On Wednesday, April 2, 2025, Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Christian Tetteh Yohuno met with former IGPs. The meeting took place at the National Police Headquarters in Accra.

The purpose was to seek advice from his predecessors. They aimed to share experiences to improve the Police Service's effectiveness. This meeting also aimed to strengthen collaboration between current and past leadership.

Attendees included Mr. C.K Dewornu, Mr. Ernest Owusu Poku, and others. Former IGPs present were Mr. Nana Owusu-Nsiah, Mr. Patrick Acheampong, and Mrs. Elizabeth Mills-Robertson. Dr. John Kudalor, Mr. David Asante-Apeatu, and Mr. James Oppong Boanuh also attended.

Key topics discussed included personnel welfare and crime fighting efforts nationwide. They talked about stakeholder engagements and ongoing reforms in the police service as well. Other general issues affecting the Ghana Police Service were also addressed.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to regular engagements for growth and development of the Ghana Police Service. Members of the Police Management Board (POMAB) were also present at the meeting.
