A disturbing incident occurred on Tuesday, April 29, in Kumasi Bantama. This happened during the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) "Thank You Tour."
The event was meant to celebrate and show appreciation. However, it turned chaotic due to a violent confrontation.
Some students from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) were there to cheer for Kennedy Agyapong. He is a former presidential aspirant for the NPP.
Eyewitnesses reported that the altercation began after Agyapong's team distributed money. Each student was supposed to receive GH¢500.
Tensions rose when some students felt they received less than expected. The dispute escalated into a physical fight.
During the scuffle, one student was stabbed. The injured student was taken to Konfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for treatment.
The attacker reportedly fled the scene after the incident. More details will follow as they become available.
