The Ketu North Constituency is leading in climate action. They recently held a large tree planting event. This initiative is called the “Green Ketu North Initiative.”
The event took place in selected communities within the constituency. It united students, traditional leaders, and security services. This collaboration showed strong community spirit and purpose.
The newly opened Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) office led the effort. They provided guidance and coordination for the day’s activities. Their support made the campaign well-structured and impactful.
“This is not just about planting trees,” said local leaders. “It’s about hope, ownership, and shared responsibility for our environment.” They emphasized investing in a greener future together.
Students from Ohawu Agricultural College and local high schools participated enthusiastically. Their involvement highlighted the role of youth in climate action. Ketu North aims to empower young people through environmental education.
Traditional leaders also played an important role at the event. They offered blessings and added cultural significance to the initiative. Their presence connected indigenous wisdom with modern sustainability practices.
Support from the Ghana National Fire Service ensured safety during activities. Volunteer groups also helped throughout the day with hands-on support.
This tree planting drive is part of a larger project in Ketu North. The goal is to make it a model for inclusive development in Ghana. The project focuses on climate action and community engagement.
With each sapling planted, Ketu North sends a clear message: sustainable development starts at home—with people, purpose, and trees.
