A total of 765 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates in the Builsa South District have received support. This includes mentorship, educational supplies, and a fully funded mock exam package. The initiative comes from their Member of Parliament, Dr. Clement Abas Apaak.
The group consists of 396 girls and 369 boys. They are preparing for the BECE scheduled for June 2025. This annual support has been provided since Dr. Apaak took office. It aims to improve students' academic performance and psychological readiness for exams.
Dr. Apaak, who is also the Deputy Minister of Education, spoke to the media about his commitment to education. He emphasized the importance of collaboration with teachers, parents, and stakeholders. “Education remains my top priority,” he stated.
He promised to invest in initiatives that prepare children for their academic journey confidently. Mr. Akumzeyam Stephen, the District Deputy Director of Education, praised Dr. Apaak’s dedication over the years. He mentioned various interventions like providing furniture and organizing quizzes.
Madam Musah Anne, the District Chief Executive, led material distribution across all 25 public basic schools in the district. She warned students against drug abuse, especially tramadol known as “RED.”
“Stay focused and avoid harmful substances,” she advised students. “Drug abuse can destroy your future.” She encouraged them to use this support as motivation to study hard and make their families proud.
