Mike Oquaye report has put an end to propaganda on why we lost: Bawumia

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the 2024 Presidential Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He spoke about the Mike Oquaye Committee's findings on April 23rd at the NPP headquarters in Accra. He said these findings clarify the party's loss in the 2024 elections.

Dr. Bawumia noted that the report counters misinformation blaming individuals within the party. “The committee’s work has been thorough and impartial,” he stated. “It has put to rest all propaganda following our electoral defeat.” He emphasized that now, the truth is clear to all committed party members and Ghanaians.

The committee, led by former Speaker Professor Aaron Mike Oquaye, reviewed the NPP's loss to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in December 2024. Dr. Bawumia urged party members to support the report's recommendations for unity and reform.

“This report is not about blame; it’s about learning and growing stronger,” he explained. He encouraged rebuilding with courage and honesty, stating that NPP has always overcome challenges.

He acknowledged campaign teams and supporters, assuring them their efforts were valuable. The NPP’s Thank You Tour will start later this week to appreciate supporters for their dedication during the election campaign.

Dr. Bawumia reaffirmed his commitment to leading a united NPP ready to reclaim power in 2028. “We are going back to thank them and renew our covenant of service,” he added.
