Military high command donates one month’s salary to Ghana Medical Trust Fund

The Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, announced a donation from the Ghana Armed Forces. They donated one month’s salary to the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, also known as MahamaCare.

This gesture highlights the military's commitment to supporting healthcare in Ghana. Mr. Kwakye Ofosu shared this news on his official Facebook page after a meeting with military leaders and presidential officials.

He praised the military for their solidarity. He called the donation a significant contribution to healthcare delivery. He believes this support will greatly benefit medical personnel and the public.

At the ceremony, Chief of Defence Staff Lieutenant General William Agyapong spoke about the donation. He said it was heartwarming that people with chronic diseases would benefit from the fund. He assured President John Mahama of the Armed Forces’ full support for this cause.

Lieutenant General Agyapong also mentioned an awareness campaign within the military. This campaign will encourage officers, soldiers, and civilian staff to contribute.

President Mahama expressed deep appreciation for this generous gesture. He described it as touching and inspiring. He urged others to donate to the Mahama Cares Fund to help more Ghanaians in need.

The Ghana Medical Trust Fund aims to support healthcare workers and improve medical services across the country.
