Police interdict officer found with restricted pharmaceutical drugs

The Ghana Police Service has suspended General Lance Corporal Shani Abdullai.

He was found with restricted pharmaceutical substances during a routine operation.

The officer had synthetic opioid drugs, specifically tramadol, in Kpalsi, Tamale.

Tramadol is a controlled substance due to its high abuse potential.

It is also linked to illegal narcotics networks.

The Police Administration confirmed the suspension in a statement.

This action allows for a thorough internal investigation into the incident.

The Service aims to uphold integrity, professionalism, and accountability.

They assured the public that if the officer is guilty, disciplinary measures will follow according to the law.
