Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), announced updates on arrests.
"As of this afternoon, we’ve arrested two more people," he said. This brings the total number of arrests to five.
He mentioned that they are pursuing others, including a woman in hiding. He questioned, "How far can you run and for how long can you hide?"
Dampare assured the family of Francis Yaw Frimpong (Pooley) that justice will be served. He also addressed Asante Kotoko SC and the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
He urged the public and football community to support police efforts for justice. The IGP emphasized that this incident is a crime under investigation.
He wants closure for the family, club, football fraternity, and country. The police plan to learn from this incident proactively.
Dampare stated they will review their strategies to ensure safety in football. "This must not happen again," he stressed, highlighting their responsibility to prevent such events.
