Roads Minister unveils Tamale outer ring road initiative during visit to Dagbon

The Minister for Roads and Highways, Mr. Kwame Agbodza, announced a new road project. This project is called the Tamale Outer Ring Road. It aims to boost economic activities in Tamale. It will also ease vehicular movement in the area.

Mr. Agbodza spoke at the Gbewa Palace on Monday, April 14. He visited Yaa Naa Abukari II during a courtesy call. He mentioned that President John Mahama supports this project. It is part of a larger plan to improve road networks nationwide.

The Minister was in the region to inspect various road projects. His team included engineers who gathered firsthand information on priority projects. They visited the Daka Bridge at Yendi and the Tamale-Yendi-Tatale road. They also checked on a 60-metre span Bailey Bridge at Wapuli along Saboba road.

Yaa Naa Abukari II praised the government's focus on infrastructure development. He described the “Big Push” initiative as significant for national transformation. He encouraged Mr. Agbodza to collaborate with stakeholders for timely delivery of quality roads.

As a gesture of goodwill, Mr. Agbodza donated 500 bags of cement. This donation supports the ongoing construction of the new Gbewa Palace. It strengthens ties between his Ministry and local traditional authorities.
