Sammy Gyamfi was the NDC’s revelation in opposition - Alhassan Suhuyini

Deputy Roads Minister Alhassan Suhuyini has defended Sammy Gyamfi. This follows criticism over a viral video. The video shows Gyamfi giving an undisclosed amount of US dollars to evangelist Nana Agradaa.

The incident has raised concerns about ethics in public office. As a result, the Chief of Staff summoned Mr. Gyamfi. He is currently the Acting CEO of the Ghana Gold Board.

In a Facebook post on May 12, Suhuyini praised Gyamfi's loyalty to the NDC. He called him the party’s “biggest revelation in opposition.” Suhuyini did not directly address the cash gift controversy.

Instead, he acknowledged Gyamfi’s dedication to the party's cause. “This young man was NDC’s biggest revelation in opposition,” he wrote. “He did everything possible to support HE JM and the NDC.”

Sammy Gyamfi later apologized for the incident. He explained that it was a private act of kindness caught on camera. Critics argue this could undermine President Mahama’s new Code of Conduct for Public Officials.

This code aims to promote transparency and reduce corruption in government.
