Suhum MP launches “Help Re-roof Suhum” initiative after devastating rainstorm

Member of Parliament for Suhum, Mr. Frank Asiedu Bekoe, known as Protozoa, responded quickly to a rainstorm. The storm hit his constituency on Friday, May 9, 2025. It caused severe damage, tearing off roofs and displacing many families.

After the storm, Mr. Bekoe visited the hardest-hit areas. He was accompanied by officials from the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO). They assessed the damage and offered support to victims.

During his visit, Mr. Bekoe expressed deep sorrow for those affected. He pledged his full support to the residents. “This is a painful moment for many of our people,” he said. “I have come to stand with you as your MP and brother.”

Mr. Bekoe urged NADMO to speed up its damage assessment process. A detailed report is essential for mobilising resources for recovery efforts.

In response to the crisis, he launched the “Help Re-roof Suhum” initiative. This campaign aims to gather support from individuals, NGOs, and businesses. It will help re-roof damaged homes and restore hope for affected families.

The initiative focuses on immediate relief and long-term rebuilding solutions. Mr. Bekoe encouraged all stakeholders to support this cause.

Meanwhile, several victims have appealed for urgent aid from the government and charitable organisations. They continue to struggle with destruction and displacement caused by the storm.
