Three Indian nationals arrested in Anyinam for illegal gold trading

Three Indian nationals were arrested in Anyinam, Eastern Region. They are accused of illegal gold trading.

The arrests followed a joint operation by the Ghana Gold Board and National Security. During this operation, officials seized several gold bars and large amounts of cash. They also confiscated money counting machines used for illegal transactions.

Security sources report that the suspects operated without necessary licenses. This violates Ghana’s Minerals and Mining laws. Authorities state that these arrests are part of a national crackdown on illegal gold trading.

Illegal trading threatens the economy and undermines the formal gold export system. The three suspects are currently in custody and assisting with investigations.

Officials from the Ghana Gold Board promise to clean up the gold trading sector. They aim to bring all illegal operators to justice. Further updates will be provided as the investigation continues.
