Two suspected armed robbers were lynched by residents in Manso Watreso. This happened in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region. The incident occurred on Monday, January 13, 2025.
The armed men blocked a road to ambush gold miners. They stole 30 pounds of gold, GHS11,000, and a car key. However, their plan was interrupted when residents acted on intelligence.
Kofi Mensah is the Assembly Member for the area. He told Kumasi FM's Elisha Adarkwah that local youth quickly mobilized. They apprehended two of the four suspects.
The lynched robbers were killed on the spot. The other two suspects escaped with the stolen items. Police from Manso Edubia arrived to recover the bodies and assist victims.
Investigations have started to find the fleeing suspects. Authorities are also gathering more details about this incident.
