UE/R: Police assures killers of 2 police officers will ‘surely’ be arrested, arraigned

The Ghana Police Service is searching for robbers who shot two policemen. This incident occurred on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Poyamirea. The location is on the outskirts of Binduri in the Upper East Region.

Preliminary investigations show that the officers were in plain clothes. They were riding their private motorbike from Bongo to Binduri when they were attacked. The robbers took their motorbike during the assault.

The names of the deceased officers have not been released. Authorities are notifying their families according to custom and tradition.

In a statement, the Police Administration expressed deep condolences to the families. They also extended sympathy to the Commander and all officers in the region.

Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Assistant Commissioner of Police, signed the statement. It assured the public that those responsible will be arrested and brought to justice.
