The Volta Regional Police Command arrested 26 suspects on May 24, 2025. This operation targeted drug-related offences at the Aflao Border in the Volta Region.
The arrests occurred at various locations. This effort aims to combat drug peddling and related crimes in the area.
Police recovered several items from the suspects. These include 20 wraps of suspected Indian hemp and 12 sachets of Tramadol tablets. They also found dried leaves believed to be Indian hemp in a rubber bucket.
Additionally, police seized cash amounts of GHS30,558.00 and 17,500 CFA. Other items included six drug-laced toffees, eight creams suspected of containing narcotics, and 26 compressed parcels of suspected Indian hemp hidden in a fertilizer sack.
The suspects are currently in police custody. They will be brought before the court for justice.
