The incoming President, John Dramani Mahama, faces a critical challenge in completing the Agenda 111 hospital project initiated by outgoing President Akufo-Addo.
Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, the NDC’s Director of Elections, revealed that an estimated $1.4 billion is required to finish the initiative, which was launched to address healthcare infrastructure gaps.
While some progress has been made, with three hospitals opening in December 2024, many remain unfinished, with completion rates ranging from 5% to 95%.
The project aims to build 111 district and regional hospitals, but it now depends on Mahama's administration to secure funding and ensure its completion, a vital step for strengthening Ghana’s healthcare system.
