Air pollution remains the leading global health threat, causing 8.1 million deaths in 2021.

In Ghana, air pollution surpasses malaria and HIV/AIDS in deaths, with 28,000 in 2019.

Upper Respiratory Tract Infections (URTI) are rampant, with cases nearly doubling in the Ayawaso West Municipality.

Despite efforts like the Clean Air Fund's investments, more local research and effective policies are needed to curb the crisis.
