The Central Regional Health Directorate has reported a surge in suspected cholera cases, reaching 3,028, with 260 confirmed infections.
The outbreak has claimed 19 lives, while four healthcare workers were infected in late 2024.
Speaking at the Annual Health Sector Performance Review in Cape Coast on Wednesday, March 19, the Regional Director of Health Services, Agnes Achiamaa Anane, highlighted the strain on healthcare facilities.
She assured that the directorate is reinforcing its surveillance systems to curb further spread and called for increased investment in healthcare infrastructure to combat future outbreaks effectively.
