The Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal Health Directorate has reported 50 suspected cholera cases and three deaths in the Western Region.
Fourteen people are currently hospitalized, with victims succumbing due to severe dehydration after arriving too late for treatment.
To prevent further spread, authorities have banned the sale of vegetables by food vendors, particularly those linked to contaminated salads and green peppers.
Residents are urged to practice good hygiene, avoid contaminated food and water, and seek medical help immediately if they experience diarrhea.
Additionally, communal rehydration points will be set up for those needing oral rehydration salts.
Environmental officers will enforce the ban starting December 16, 2024, and violators will face legal consequences.
