Dr. Opoku Ware Ampomah, CEO of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, has highlighted a critical shortfall in funding for dialysis sessions.
Despite patients contributing towards the cost, the hospital subsidizes over GH¢300 per session.
Dr. Ampomah explained that while the hospital proposed a fee of GH¢760 to break even, Parliament approved only GH¢491.
He urged patients to recognize the substantial subsidies provided, noting that they previously received free dialysis from 2017 until last year.
