Equity Health Insurance has launched a new healthcare initiative called NHIS Top-Up. This program aims to improve the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS). It makes premium healthcare more accessible for Ghanaians.
The NHIS Top-Up allows subscribers to add benefits to their current plans. These benefits include faster care, affordable premiums, and more service options. The initiative was introduced at Equity Health's stand in Madina Market from April 8 to 11, 2025.
This move supports Equity Health’s mission of providing value-for-money healthcare solutions. They work with accredited hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies across Ghana.
Representatives from Equity Health were present to help new subscribers upgrade their NHIS packages. They also educated existing subscribers about the Top-Up plan. People could register on-site for a smooth onboarding experience.
During the event, an Equity Health representative highlighted the need for broader health coverage. “Our mission is to bridge the gap between basic coverage and true healthcare access,” they stated.
Subscribers of the NHIS Top-Up can expect several benefits:
- Faster Care: Reduced waiting times at healthcare facilities.
- Affordable Premiums: Cost-effective plans tailored to individual needs.
- Expanded Benefits: Coverage for services not included in standard NHIS packages.
Dr. Elton Fredrick Afari, CEO of Equity Health Insurance, mentioned that this initiative will expand to other major markets soon. He encouraged people to visit their stand and sign up.
