GNAT Conference: Gyan-Mensah donates to support teaching and learning in Gomoa

The 7th Quadrennial (54th) District Delegates Conference of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) took place in Gomoa Ankamu. The event gathered educators, stakeholders, and community leaders. They reviewed progress, discussed challenges, and planned for the future of education.

This well-attended conference reaffirmed the commitment to quality education and teacher welfare. Richard Gyan-Mensah, the Member of Parliament for Gomoa West, delivered the keynote address. He is also the Deputy Energy Minister.

During his speech, Mr. Gyan-Mensah donated funds for a proposed Teachers’ Award Scheme Fund. This fund aims to motivate hardworking teachers in the constituency. He highlighted several educational interventions funded by his annual allocation from the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund).

His initiatives include supporting school renovations and distributing teaching materials. He also organizes inter-school academic competitions and provides financial aid to tertiary students. Additionally, he resources the District Education Directorate.

Mr. Gyan-Mensah emphasized his commitment to motivating teachers. He advocated for establishing a Teachers’ Award Scheme Fund to support them directly. He donated seed money to start this fund and promised further contributions.

Delegates appreciated these proactive steps to uplift teaching and improve learning environments. Mr. Gyan-Mensah expressed his passion for quality education as essential for empowerment and development.
