Ghana has achieved a 90.6% Tuberculosis (TB) treatment success rate for 2024, exceeding its national target of 90% for 2025. Out of 20,599 detected cases, the country saw a decline in TB-related deaths to 5.1%.

However, an estimated 24,000 cases remain undetected, with only 900 children diagnosed—far below the target of 16,000. Dr. Yaw Adusi-Poku, speaking at the World TB Day event, called for increased investment in screening and treatment.

Health Minister Kwabena Mintah Akandoh pledged enhanced funding for TB control, including more GeneXpert and digital X-ray machines. Prof. Samuel Kaba Akoriyea urged strong leadership and funding to combat TB effectively.

This year’s World TB Day theme, "Yes! We Can End TB: Commit, Invest, Deliver," underscores the need for urgent action.
