Gosanet Foundation, a health-focused NGO, operates in the Adaklu District. On Monday, they organized Tuberculosis (TB) screening in three communities. This event aimed to raise awareness for World Tuberculosis Day.
The screenings took place in Adaklu-Waya, Adaklu-Torda, and Adaklu-Dzakpo. The global theme was “Yes, We can End TB- Commit, invest and deliver.” The event was a collaboration with local health authorities and the Stop TB Partnership Ghana.
Mr. Matthew Adam Ayamba is the Adaklu District Director of Health Services. He emphasized that Ghanaians should be aware of TB symptoms. These include weight loss, fever, night sweats, and coughing.
He noted that many people overlook TB due to COVID-19 and malaria concerns. However, he stressed that TB is still a dangerous disease. Early diagnosis is crucial for effective treatment.
