Health Minister Kwabena Mintah Akando has cautioned nurses and healthcare workers against unprofessional conduct, warning that rude behavior discourages patients from seeking medical care.

Speaking at a cholera sensitization program at Winneba Government Hospital, he acknowledged that while most health workers are professional, a few "bad nuts" tarnish the profession’s image.

He urged nurses to remain patient and courteous, even under provocation, emphasizing that mistreatment drives patients away from public hospitals to private facilities.

The minister hinted at stricter disciplinary measures for misconduct but also pledged to improve working conditions to address frustrations among healthcare workers.

He stressed that ensuring a respectful and compassionate healthcare environment is key to boosting public trust in the system.
