Ghana faces an imminent shortage of essential drugs by the end of June, warns the Ghana Medical Association (GMA).
Facilities are already struggling with medication supplies.
The issue stems from delays in clearing tuberculosis and malaria drugs from the port, despite tax waivers secured in April.
Over 118 containers remain stuck, accruing seven million cedis in charges.
The Global Fund has threatened to cut ties, risking $45 million worth of commodities and straining relations. The shortage could severely impact HIV and TB treatments, leading to resistance and increased costs for second-line medications.
