'Abort thank you tour and deal with the basics' – Political analyst tells NPP

Political analyst Dr. Kwame Asah-Asante has urged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to pause its activities. He cited unresolved internal conflicts that threaten party unity and grassroots mobilization.

Speaking on JoyNews News Desk, he emphasized the need for reevaluation. The party must assess its internal dynamics before pursuing its political agenda.

“I believe they have to abort the whole program,” he said. “They need to return to the drawing board and get it right.”

Dr. Asah-Asante suggested forming a committee to address existing conflicts within the party. He warned that ignoring these divisions could hurt their chances in future elections.

He noted that discontented members might confront party leadership, destabilizing structures and public perception.

“Once you deal with that, you will receive many calls to energize the grassroots,” he added.

Internal discontent is becoming visible as some members challenge leadership openly. “Those who are bold will confront the leadership — and we see this happening now,” he stated.

He urged NPP leaders to approach the situation carefully. A strategic pause and internal review are necessary first steps toward restoring unity and focus.

“I believe they must critically examine this issue,” he concluded.
