10 heads of state confirm participation in President-Elect Mahama’s inauguration

Felix Kwakye Ofosu, spokesperson for the John Dramani Mahama Transition Team, has confirmed that 10 heads of state will attend Mahama’s swearing-in ceremony on January 7, 2025, at the Black Star Square.

In addition to the heads of state, the ceremony will feature two vice presidents, one speaker of parliament, two former presidents, and heads of international organizations such as the Commonwealth and AfDB.

Mr. Ofosu provided details of the preparations, noting that the event would be a joint parliamentary session, with Parliament relocating to the Square for the occasion.

Strict security and access protocols will be in place, with the area cordoned off and entry restricted to invited guests.

Road closures and diversions will be in effect in Accra, with designated parking areas for attendees.

Guests are advised to arrive by 8:30 AM for seating, with proceedings set to begin at 11:00 AM.
