The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Yendi Constituency of the Northern Region has temporarily suspended 184 members over alleged constitutional breaches.
A statement signed by Constituency Chairman Nashiru Abdul Karim cited the decision as being in accordance with Article 3 Clauses (9)(1), (7)(1), and (8)(1) of the party’s amended 2017 constitution.
The suspensions follow several petitions from party members alleging misconduct related to the recently concluded presidential and parliamentary elections.
Investigations are expected to determine further action regarding the matter.
