President-elect John Dramani Mahama has pledged to learn from the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) defeat in the recent elections, emphasizing that political power belongs to the people.

Speaking at a thanksgiving service at the Assemblies of God Ringway Gospel Center on December 15, Mahama acknowledged that Ghanaians will hold his government accountable, cautioning against arrogance in leadership.

“The same stick that Takyi has been beaten with, the Ghanaian people are reserving it for Baah if we fail,” Mahama said, highlighting that power is a temporary gift from God and must be wielded responsibly.

Reflecting on Ghana's political landscape, Mahama criticized the growing selfishness among leaders and vowed to prioritize humility and service during his second term.
