8th Parliament set to be dissolved today

Ghana’s 8th Parliament of the Fourth Republic will officially dissolve today, January 6, 2025, ending a legislative term that began on January 7, 2021.

The final sitting, led by Speaker Alban Bagbin, will see Members of Parliament conclude their business and bid farewell.

The 8th Parliament, notable for its rare 137-137 split between the ruling NPP and opposition NDC, was characterized by intense debates and negotiations.
