A-Plus apologises to AG for his tone inappropriate choice of words

Gomoa Central MP Kwame Asare Obeng, known as A-Plus, has apologized. His remarks on social media were directed at Dr. Dominic Ayine. Dr. Ayine is the Bolgatanga East MP and former Attorney General.

In a statement today, A-Plus explained that the offending post was from an impersonator's account. He clarified it was not from his verified platforms.

However, he admitted his own Facebook response to Dr. Ayine was "disrespectful." He reflected on his tone and word choice.

"As a Member of Parliament, I sincerely apologize to Hon. Dr. Ayine," he said. He also apologized to the general public.

The controversy started when Dr. Ayine referenced allegations from the fake account during a press conference. He challenged A-Plus to clarify his stance on a National Service Secretariat (NSS) scandal.

A-Plus denied any involvement with the NSS scandal. He stated he only helped someone seeking media support to clear their name.

He explained, "In November 2024, a gentleman approached me claiming false accusations." This person sought help through media engagements due to being misrepresented.

A-Plus emphasized that supporting this individual does not mean suppressing the case. "Every accused person deserves to be heard," he added.

Despite distancing himself from the impersonated account, A-Plus took responsibility for his Facebook post. He deleted it as a gesture of remorse.

He reaffirmed his commitment to fighting corruption with integrity and respect for all parties involved.
