Dr. Stephen Amoah has called for a shift in Ghana’s approach to governance and justice following the Office of the Special Prosecutor’s (OSP) classification of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta as a fugitive.
Speaking on Joy News, the Nhyiaeso MP emphasized the need for a fair legal system, urging caution before labeling individuals as criminals without a court ruling. “We must redefine our national focus and avoid premature judgments,” he stated.
Dr. Amoah also reflected on his own role in such matters, acknowledging broader concerns over political polarization in corruption investigations.
The OSP declared Ofori-Atta a fugitive after he failed to honor a summons, citing medical treatment abroad. Despite his lawyers informing the OSP of his absence, authorities proceeded with the declaration.
