A major challenge of Ghanaian Businessmen is not capital but lack of trusted human resources – Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama of Ghana has addressed a key issue for businesses. He stated that the main challenge is not capital. Instead, it is finding trusted people to work with.

Mahama shared this insight during the Kwahu Business Forum. He spoke with many businesspeople who echoed this concern. They believe that trust issues hinder productivity in their operations.

The President explained that some workers view businesses as platforms for personal gain. He noted, “If somebody comes to work for you, he thinks your business is a platform for him also to build his business.”

He also shared a personal story about helping a relative. Mahama bought a bus for them to support their family. The bus was given to a driver, but it often needed repairs.

The driver managed to buy land and started building a house. However, when the bus broke down and was sold, the driver could not finish the construction.
