ASA Savings organises eye and general medical screening for Ogbojo residents

ASA Savings and Loans Ltd recently organized a free health screening. This event was for clients and residents of Ogbojo and nearby areas. The Ashale Botwe Business Centre led the initiative, providing eye care and medication.

Over 150 people benefited from the screening. They were tested for malaria, hepatitis B, blood sugar levels, and blood pressure. Free medicine was given based on their diagnoses.

The first 30 attendees received new mosquito nets to help prevent malaria. Mr. Eugene Owusu Biney, the area manager for ASA, spoke to the media about the event. He emphasized that giving back is a priority for the company as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

“This health screening is part of our CSR activities,” he said. “We want to provide benefits not just to clients but to the entire community.” Mr. Biney encouraged women in business to visit ASA branches for support with loans.

Abdul Rahman, lead medical officer from Modern Care Clinic, praised ASA for organizing this screening. He urged people to get regular checkups to identify health issues early. “Many people have high blood pressure without knowing it,” he noted.

Joyce Ofori, one of the beneficiaries, expressed her gratitude to ASA Savings and Loans. She mentioned receiving free medical care alongside her husband at the event.

The free health screening took place at Ogbojo New Market on June 2nd. It is one of many similar events planned by ASA Savings and Loans this year. The company aims to continue giving back to communities where they operate each year.
