The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Abuakwa South Constituency has called for an immediate stop to the issuance of recruitment letters for training at the newly opened Kyebi Fire Service Training Centre.
In a statement signed by Communication Officer Aikins Ofori, the NDC accused the Ghana Fire Service of issuing backdated recruitment letters, some dated as far back as November 2024, though distributed in January 2025.
The party alleges this is part of a scheme by the previous government to undermine President Mahama's administration.
The NDC has warned the Eastern Regional Fire Service Commander to cease the practice within 24 hours or face protests at the training centre.
"We won’t entertain deliberate attempts to frustrate governance," the statement read.
